The Ohio State University’s Center for Automotive Research tests the eNow solar system and finds “measurable and significant” fuel savings.

The goal of this project was to find what fuel economy differences existed, if any, between a class 8 tractor during normal operation and when charging a bank of auxiliary batteries. Normal operation was to simulate the benefits of the eNow solar charging system, while the battery charging mode described how these vehicles currently operate when charging auxiliary batteries used for No Idle HVAC, Liftgate, and other auxiliary load applications.
